Wolf Smoke is a small original animation making studio now in Shanghai, China. We have only a few ppl but we trying our best to make great animation. Kung Fu Cooking Girls is a short story, we made it for testing new cartoon style and method of the way of making movies. We did key frames on paper first then used vector software to do the between frames and color painting. This is the first time that we use this way to do stuffs. Over 4000 key frames hand drawing and over 10,000 betweens in this movie. - Via Wolk Smoke’s Vimeo

Wolf Smoke Studio’s Kung Fu Cooking Girls is a short film from 2012. I think it stays true to the anime style of animation that we all are familiar with. In this short the lines are not clean and the inking goes outside of the lines more often than not. I think it adds character. I always appreciate rough animation

The most admirable part of this short was the fighting choreography. The way the frames were smeared to convey the actions was the icing on the cake. I could’ve done without the hypersexualization of one of the women which was joked on in the film however that is in alignment with anime. This roughly 8.5 minute short is definitely worth checking out for entertainment purposes
