Day 74 / 291

My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me. - Jim Valvano

My father passed away at the beginning of my sophomore year of college.

I once read  "death ends a life not a relationship" and although he was not there on graduation day in the physical sense, I know he was there spiritually.

So I decided this year to create an illustration of us on my graduation day.

I have learned that  the  difficult part about dealing with death is that life goes on. My college graduation was only the beginning of many significant life moments and experiences that he will not be able to share with my family and I.

This illustration is a small reminder that he has never left my side.

I am not gone I remain here beside you Just in a different form Look for me in your heart And there you will find me in our love which forever lives on

In those moments when you feel alone Look for me in your thoughts And there you will find me in sweet memories that burn strong

Every time a tear Forms in your beautiful eyes Look up to the heavens And there you will see me Smiling down from God's glorious skies
